  when i was a kid, i researched the origins of the religion and realized that the witnesses were an offshoot of adventism.....we're you surprised to learn something about the witnesses that you didn't realize?.

  i think many older ones at bethel have a nagging feeling that these new guys that make up the governing body now at bethel don't really give a rats ass what happens to them and that because of all the failed predictions their future is very bleak as the corporation trims all the fat and sends them on their merry way with little hope of material benifits for all years of slaving for the corporation.. the scenario or fantacy cycle for wishful thinking is: a pattern that recurs in personal lives, in politics, in history and in storytelling.

  when we embark on a course of action which is unconsciously driven by wishful thinking, all may seem to go well for a time, in what may be called the dream stage(1874-1914, 1916-1925, 1925-1975).

  but because this make-believe can never be reconciled with reality, it leads to a frustration stage(1975-2014) as things start to go wrong, prompting a more determined effort to keep the fantasy in being.

  how can you tell if your business successes are coming from satan or god?

  because if your work gets real busy and you miss some meetings and/or fs, is that how you tell that it's from satan?

  but then if you contribute a big amount every week, is it from jehovah?

  I remember a talk where this bro said that if you were not experiencing tribulation then you should worry because why has Satan all of a sudden stopped bugging you?

  So, my interpretation has to be that if you miss a previously scheduled drone up-keep (meeting) obviously you've taken a huge plunge off the deep end and you will die for lack of faith.

  But, if you're able to somehow miraculously handle work, your family, your problems, and robot classes all in one week then you must undoubtedly have the support of the Lord.

  someone mentioned to me the other day about going door to door back when i was a jw.

  "weren't you scared to do something like that, knock on a stranger's door?

  actually it's been so long that i had almost forgotten.

  Once out on service with my mother we called on this lady who had showed interest to the mags, she invited us in and we sat to chit chat some more about the truth.

  What we didn't know was that she had invited members of her church and her Pastor to have a surprise attack on us while we visited her. It was unnerving to think you're alone with someone and then all of sudden ten of her church homies appear from the bedrooms. Nothing scary happened but we knew right then that we'd been set up to argue about the bible and would never call on her again. Who knows the next time they might have tried something crazy.

  Oh and the dogs, so many on service- I should've received some sort of medal for my dog encounters. We all should have, and the door slams- I still can't get over how harsh some people were. Even if they visit me now I don't think I'd have the heart to slam the door on some poor kid, that's a wee bit traumatic.

  what i have realized studying JWs,the bitter truth

  well, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?

  false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.

  Sorry but I have to refute this statement as no one is paid, I learned two foreign languages in my time and never received a cent. Anyone that takes on missionary, bethel, or further privilieges in their home congregation is a volunteer.

  I would recommend doing a bit more research, maybe check out the sex abuse scandals, effect of severe shunning, and how they preach love but love is not demonstrated in the congs except for Saturday morning at 9:30am when they knock on your door. Hopefully this forum can help you get all the facts and from there after examining both sides of the coin you can make your decision.

  brother of the hawk, newly enlightened & gojira, recorded an elder's meeting on 5/7/03.

  both does a great job of defending me and making the elders look foolish!.

  thank you raypublisher/jj and jwstruggle for the awesome job you did on it.. follow up story was not recorded but we will post it here hopefully over the weekend.. enjoy, it's pretty hilarious how they try to control us and come after me on a work of fiction!.

  have a local needs on apostasy, have everyone shun you, have no shepherding calls since you left for over a year, and now a jc tomorrow evening????????.

  spoke to branch committee as well as co and they said to go and if we were treated unfairly then to call the co. don't get it.

  the co would have known about the local needs talk on apostasy and says if we were treated unfairly to call him.

  In my experience the elders always placed the cart before the horse because keeping appearances is much more important than shepherding the flock. I am sorry to hear about the JC, that is definitely going to suck and I realy wouldn't keep my hopes for talking with the CO after.

  They're saying that to help you feel at ease but after they've judged you tomorrow the CO will hear you no more- neither will HQ.

  it was not long after the official governing body dedication of the warwick property, that a tall straight man, dressed in plain white, with half long hair and a beard, checked in at the security officer at the gate of the property.. "sir, what's your name and what's your purpose of your visit?

  " asked the security guy.. "brother, i am here for a long expected visit".. "do you have an appointment?
